Brian was Vice-President of a Canada-wide firm supplying dishes, cutlery and cooking equipment to the hotel and restaurant industry. In retirement -(?)- Brian now breeds and raises several varieties of exotic birds which have won him numerous awards in both Canadian and U.S. bird shows. He has been interviewed on television and radio news shows about ,and with, his prize birds. He is also a successful first-time Canadian breeder of some rare varieties of parrots and at the time of this entry, was the president of the Canadian Parrot Breeders Association. He has written and published a number of articles in 'birding' magazines relating to the care, feeding and raising of birds giving him international recognition as a result. Along with this, Brian also finds time to raise orchids and still keeps up his original hobby of a "ham" radio operator. Not bad for retirement!
Elaine and her husband Brian may be the "Cruise Champions" of this extended family. If an ocean liner sails there, they have probably been on it. In the summer of 2001, Elaine won the ladies event in a major Salmon fishing derby on Lake Ontario and received over $5000.00 in cash and merchandise prizes.
