Notes

Steve SHUMAY

At last report Steve was a building inspector for the city of Moose Jaw.

Ella HARDING

Ella is the granddaughter of John Harding and was a major contributor of data for this section of the Harding line.  She was born on the family farm, as were most family members, with the births registered in the nearby town of Lafleche.  Ella joined the Canadian Army in 1942 and served as a transport driver.  With the impending arrival of her first child, she was honourably discharged in 1944.  At last report, she lived in Moose Jaw, Sask.

Ronald HARDING

One of three Harding brothers who each married a Layman sister.

James Morris HARDING

One of three Harding brothers who each married a Layman sister.

Gerald Dennis HARDING

One of three Harding brothers who each married a Layman sister from a neighbouring farm.  Dennis, (he apparently preferred his second name and was known as 'Denny'), farmed his father's farm, as well as the original family homestead belonging to both his and my grandfather, John Thomas Harding.

George HARDING

George is known to have married in the Montreal area and family verbal information is there were at least seven children in his family.  Birth order and dates are not known but the reported childrens' names were Doreen, Elsie, Eileen, Marjorie, Stanley, Ernest and Herbert.  George is picked up on the 1911 census, age 21, and living in Montreal before he was married.  Marriage399.  The family (3 children, Lillian 6, Ernest 3, and Elsie 1), show on the 1921 Canadian census at Iberville, Quebec with George listed as a Chef.
