Janet WADDELL

Birth record LDS: C116692.  Marriage record LDS: M119942.  Two LDS marriage records were found.  The first for 25 June 1725 in Livingston, (which was likely a "Banns" reading), and the other 2 days later in Linlithgow.  The later one has been used for the marriage record in this file.

John MCPATE

He was born John "McPake", but the family changed their name to "McPate" around 1883 (reasons unknown), after the death of John's father Bernard McPake.   This record for John and his descendants therefore reflects his wishes about the spelling of his surname.   John reportedly worked in a collery as a Pitheadman.  Birth record GROS:  629/00 0098.   Marriage record GROS:  651/00 0191.   Death record GROS: 652/02 0166.

Charlotte Hardie DAWSON

Birth record GROS: 489/00 0068.   Marriage record GROS: 651/00 0191.   Death record GROS:  652/01 0048.

George Bernard MCPATE

Reported to have emigrated to New Zealand in 1927.

Thomas MCPATE

He was a Stewart on the liner Queen Mary.

Herbert James MCPATE

Herbert enlisted  with the RAF in 1935 and served with them before, during and after the second world war, retiring as a Warrant officer in 1967.   Birth record GROS:  652/02 0285.   Marriage record GROS:  282/03 0250.
