The Burt (later Burtt) family lived in Connecticut Colony when it was a province in British North America before the American Revolutionary War from April 1775 to Sept 1783. They chose to remain loyal to Britian and were therfore forced to give up thier lands and properties and removed to the Province of Nova Scotia, settling in the Kewsick area in York County. At this time the province of Nova Scotia also included half of the later to be formed Province of New Brunswick in 1784.
